    Job purpose:
    Drive the design, implementation and maintenance of the physical in-country network for the the operator ., in conjunction with the Strategic Partner to achieve Network Coverage and Quality leadership, and to guarantee that the network is scalable while ensuring a world class customer experience, meet benchmarked Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensure Regulatory compliances

    Drive strategy formulation and provide strategic leadership and direction to the Networks function
    Facilitate establishment of high levels of reliability and redundancy in the networks; Institute a robust quality improvement plan as well as a Business Continuity Plan.
    Develop a long-term Network Deployment strategy with the objective of improving Capex Productivity & introducing new technology

    Forecast Network Capacity requirements and Network Quality Management:
    Drive the collection of business inputs, technical utilization trends and forecast.
    Ensure teamwork and collaboration across all business units within the value chain.
    Ensure standardization of the network quality processes for consistent customer experience and plus one network over and above competition
    Competition Benchmarking and cascade good practices to Network teams
    Monitor Network Quality parameters i.e. Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s

    Formulate and implement the Technology Architecture for Global Delivery in partnership with CTO - Africa:
    Work closely to design the dynamic and evolving Technology Architecture and framework relevant and ensure its implementation across the Opco
    Leverage on the best in class models and frameworks deployed for servicing current and projected customer base, ensuring coverage maximization and capacity optimization

    Ensure building of Intelligent Network & VAS management and maintenance of the physical in-country network for the Opco:
    Oversee the engineering, configuration, installation, maintenance and upgrade of the network across locations
    Ensure governance and standardization of the deployment of both active and passive components of the network
    Leverage scale for efficiency and cost reduction and improve asset management across locations
    Ensure standardization of network operations processes, stabilization of managed services model and implementation of cost conscious model – ensure implementation of initiatives aimed at energy conservation
    Ensure timely and correct Network Deployment by monitoring implementation of all network segment projects. Lead innovation for Prepaid/IN and VAS products
    Ensure implementation of a robust network security policy

    Key partner and stakeholder management:
    Manage high level relationships with key stakeholders including governmental and non-governmental agencies, internal business leaders, strategic outsourced partners, technology partners etc.
    Review partner performance to ensure on-time and accurate delivery
    Supervise Regulatory and Local Authority compliances by ensuring timely submission of reports, applications and execution of regulatory norms
    Establish and enhance quality of relationship with Strategic Partner by consistent tracking, monitoring and feedback from Strategic Partner.

    Governance and performance monitoring of Country operations:
    Direct, monitor and review functional operations across the region
    Closely collaborate with CTO – Africa for leveraging on common synergies with the operator India, the operator South Asia and for ensuring high Networks standards across these regions

    Build capabilities in the organization for scale and complexity by putting in appropriate technical talent and development Program
    Develop a bench strength of future leaders through coaching, mentoring and guidance
    Establish performance expectations and resource allocations consistent with short and longer term plans

    Customer Experience:
    Achieve customer delight and experience on network performance
    Monitoring Voice of Customer, Complaints and Inputs from other sources/survey results.

    Monitor and ensure an efficient NOE:
    Increase efficiency and profitability of the network by monitoring and controlling CAPEX and OPEX
    Formulating an operational cost saving plan

    Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills
     Bachelor of Engineer degree (communication, electronics, or related fields )
     Sound knowledge of Mobile Network Planning, Optimization and/or O&M
     Analytical, statistical and Presentation skills

    Relevant Experience (Type of experience and minimum number of years)
     10-15 years of varied experience, 5-7 within Telecom Industry or 5-7 years in GSM/CDMA Network.
     Minimum 5 years management experience in network Performance /Optimization/Planning/O&M
     Should have lead Technical function of a smaller operation

    Other requirements (Behavioral etc.)
     Ability to innovate and deliver value to business at multiple levels will play an important role
