A telecom operator is looking for his Bid/Pricing Manager
ROLE PURPOSE
The Bid/Pricing Manager supports project design teams within the Commercial division in structuring quality cost proposals in response to solicitations by government agencies, foundations, and corporations. The Bid/Pricing Manager interacts and collaborates with staff at all levels of the organization to gather input and inform design. The Bid/Pricing manager is responsible for providing pricing support through the development and review of high-quality pricing models and documentation for proposal opportunities of various sizes and complexities. The Manager provides guidance on innovative cost strategies, supports organizational analysis on trends related to new business efforts and actively mentors and builds the capacity of his colleagues and team. The Manager is primarily responsible for the bidding process in the commercial division, from initial RFP/contact through to contract signing, by overseeing the initiation and coordination of proposal development processes & specifications, and consequently managing proposal-related tasks.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Thinking and Planning
• Develop the functional strategy as cascaded down from the company strategy and oversee its implementation throughout the organisation and its operations, to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departmental strategies across Awasr.
Managerial Accountabilities
• Advise in the review of sales proposals for products and service opportunities to determine proposal feasibility.
• Collaborate with different departments to ensure that budgets correctly interface with internal financial and accounting systems.
• Ensure risk is maintained at the lowest level possible, and update Management accordingly.
• Monitor progress to ensure task/s are accomplished according to the schedules set.
Operational Accountabilities
• Analyse geographic territory, customer requirements, and competitive activity to develop sales offers and bids designed to achieve sales goals.
• Assist on assembly, final production, and quality control of pricing proposals.
• Conduct final cost reviews and ensure budget documents are endorsed by respective senior management prior to submission of proposals.
• Develop, modify, and customize budget checklists and templates to ensure all internal and external cost/pricing requirements are met.
• Ensure efficient layout, development, and production of compliant budgets, including cost models/templates, formats, and pricing rationale.
• Ensure that cost estimates support the requirements, schedules, and contract terms and conditions.
• Maintain current knowledge of market conditions and competitors and activities critical to the bidding process.
• Offer different alternatives, proactively in case of price issues or in case of deviations from specification.
• Participate in the development, editing and writing of original proposal responses and other sales-related documents.
• Participate in the review of sales proposals for products and service opportunities to determine proposal feasibility.
• Prepare offer documents for clients.
• Provide budgetary pricing for projects that are in design.
• Provide comments and recommended adjustments to terms and conditions in a timely manner.
• Provide standard technical product knowledge as required.
• Provide support for bid/no-bid decisions, analysing solicitations and participating in bid review meetings, with the aim to support the development of competitive pricing strategies.
• Reply to sales inquiries and proposal approval requests in a timely manner.
• Review and analyse proposal requirements, ensure overall quality, and ensure 100% compliance with the development of any Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFP) and other proposal requirements within the division.
• Support the preparation of offers, bids, contracts and other sales-related documents required by customers products/services/solutions.
• Understand regulating authorities, code requirements, and other industry-specific factors.
• Understand standard pricing and bid strategy.
• Utilise standard sales techniques in order to help sell products and services to established or prospective customers.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Educational Qualifications
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Sales & Marketing or equivalent.
Professional Qualifications & Experience
• 8 years of Experience in product/service design and implementation.
• A minimum of 3 years of responsible leadership experiences in management or supervisory positions preferred.
• Budgeting and financial analysis experience preferred.
Sector of Previous Experience
• Telecommunications, etc.
Language Requirements for Role
• English mandatory. Arabic is a plus
