Step 1: to propose the MFS Value proposition
Objectives:
To analyse the market and identify business opportunities To formalize the value proposition and product offerings
Tasks:
Benchmarks of MFS successful & unsuccessful services in similar markets
Market analyse of payment usage in Kuwait
Interviews with Viva management to receive comprehensive vision on Viva
strategic direction & growth aspiration
Sizing of the different identified opportunities
Analysis of the banking and payment infrastructure : national switches,
number of cards, pos, atm
Analysis of the competition (Banks, Money exchange Houses, PSP, Visas & MC)
Minimum 2 scenarios of Value proposition which will describe high level
customer journey, target audience, business model for customer charging, drivers for adoption and competitive advantages

Step 2: to formalise business and operating model
Objectives:
Define optimized business and operating model for VIVA and its role in the MFS ecosystem
Tasks:
Define pricing model
Potential revenues estimation
Competitor pricing analysis
Detailed analysis of all the regulatory impacts of the selected MFS Value
proposition
Identification of internal operational capability from VIVA
Overview of the ecosystem of potential partners: regulatory partner (banks,
money exchange or others) and business partners (MNO, Payroll providers,
card issuers, Orange Group)
Initiate discussion with potential partners and start selection process (RFI)
Propose a partnership strategy based on:
Complexity level of the current regulation
Viva current internal capabilities
External partner existing infrastructures
Define criteria for partner selection & recommendation report for Bank
selection

Step 3: to define the build phase
Objectives:
Select the best vendor as per Viva MFS product requirements with an optimized Platform architecture regarding security and costs
Provide clear go to market plan with P&L impacts, product roadmap and distribution plan
Tasks:
Best practices on security for hosting & operating MFS Platforms
Analyze and check existing VIVA infrastructures and network components:
to identify the main network and IT impacts, security assets & threats
Support to define the MFS solution architecture scenario that best accommodates
both VIVA systems architecture and Business requirements
Recommendation on vendor strategy (single or multiple vendors)
Draft a complete RFP document including:
Product specifications for MLR, High level product roadmap for next phase product evolutions, IT & security requirements, Interface specifications
Assistance to the selection of the most adapted vendor
Definition of the MFS product roadmap
First draft of Business plan with Low case & High case scenarios that will
include estimated cost structure with the regulatory partner (considering the
partner has been selected)
Definition of the distribution strategy : support for selection of the retailers,
definition of the sales promotion, definition of the roll out plan

Technical Architecture description and main
requirement in terms of platform integration to VIVA IT and network, interconnection, security, availability, redundancy, scalability and maintainability

Prerequisites
Description of existing global network architecture, suppliers for Core network and VAS domains (mainly USSD gateway, OCS and SMSC)
The level of detail will depend on progress of the discussion with the selected partner 3 (bidders, regulatory, and business)
Step 4: to launch prototype
Objectifs:
Assist Viva on the launch of a prototype Provide Viva with good visibility on the project plan for a full launch
Tasks:
Definition of the prototype scope Number of users
Duration
Scope of service limited to MLR or more?
Supervise selected vendors for the set up of the prototype Define KPIs related to the prototype
Timing:
4 weeks
