JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for leading and managing the overall Mobile Money business and performance of the Mobile Money P&L entity – reporting into the CEO Mobile operator and group Mobile Money Head - this role will be Responsible for analysis and defining customers and market requirements and trends to ensure that the business achieves it set goals.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop Mobile Money business plan including constructing and maintaining the critical Mobile Money Eco System. Support the development and execution of the agreed business plan
• Define product roadmap in line with Group IT, Revenue Assurance, Finance & Commercial requirements
• Engage effectively with the country Executive Committee team plus other Opco supporting functions
• Engage partner banks, group, regulators, consultants and partners in service development
• Monitor competitor activity, banks, MFI and MTNO’s activities & technological advancements to ensure M-commerce is competitive and profitable.
• Define product objectives
• Coordinate with legal and regulatory teams on effectively managing regulatory requirements
• Oversee, track and make timely recommendations to ensure the operation achieves the agreed Mobile Money annual operating plan KPI’s and objectives
• Ensure all Processes are in line with defined business processes as well as legal, banking and regulatory requirements
• Provide recommendations based on understanding of competitor offerings as well as global best practice including but not limited to banks, MFI and MTNO’s activities & technological advancements to ensure Mobile Money is competitive
Work closely with other departments:
Procurement, supplier development
IT, for product performance information and tariff setting
Commercial team for the launch of new products
